Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP)

  • The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has posted a number of resources for Choice schools and parents for the upcoming 2019-2020 student application process.

  •  In an effort to better assist parents applying for the Choice programs, DPI is requesting that Choice schools who include a link to the Online Parent Application or other Choice application documentation on their school websites use the shortcut or original Both links take parents to the same student-application webpage which includes the Online Parent Application link and all the parent resources listed above. These resources may be helpful in answering questions parents have when applying.
    Please remember parents must electronically submit the Online Parent Application. Schools may assist parents during the application process, but schools may not submit applications on behalf of parents in the Online Parent Application. Schools can answer questions and have computers available for parents to use.
    Please also remember that all applicants, regardless of their Choice status in the prior school year, must apply for the program every year.
    For New Students Only: Due to system maintenance at the DOR, the process for parents to immediately determine income eligibility in the Online Parent Application and for schools to complete the DOR income determination in the Online Application System (OAS) will not be available from Saturday, February 2 at 5:30 a.m. until Monday, February 4 at 9:00 a.m. Parents of new students will be able to submit applications during this time in the Online Parent Application and can use the DPI income method or select the DOR method in which they would provide their social security numbers to the school for later submission to DOR. A message will be displayed for parents during the DOR system maintenance that they may want to wait until Monday, February 4 if they would like an immediate answer as to income eligibility. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
