Fall is here! Perhaps not officially according to the calendar, yet the gardens and fields are rich with produce and ready to be HARVESTED. Matthew 9:37 and Luke 10:2 tell us “The HARVEST is plentiful, but the laborers are few.”

The Board of Christian Outreach would like to remind us that what seems to be the smallest and easiest acts of kindness are the prayers for others. Pray to love your enemies even those who persecute you (Matthew 5:44). That is a tall order to follow indeed, yet by doing so you will find your own heart being changed into one like Christ; both parties will reap the HARVEST of God’s love.

Our prayers to our loving Lord are powerful acts of love and kindness. Our Savior continues to tell us in Matthew 9:38, “So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the HARVEST, ask Him to send more workers into His fields”. Our labor force here at St. James and elsewhere will be magnified through our prayers and act of kindness.
